To Christmas

Get in the Christmas Spirit with a new activity everyday! Complete one of the following activities then color in one section of the tree everyday until Christmas! Start with the presents and move up to the star.

December 13th - Make An Ornament for Your Christmas Tree

Add a touch of your personality as you decorate your Christmas Tree! You can grab simple wooden ornaments from the Dollar Tree that you can draw or paint on or create your own ornament from materials you already have at home. Here are some fun examples: Fabric Christmas Tree Ornaments, Star Yarn Ornaments, or Marbled Christmas Tree Ornaments.

December 14th - Have a Snowball Fight/Build A Snowman

Bring on the family competitions with a snowball fight or build a snowman together! No snow yet? Have a snowball fight with clean folded socks or white balloons! Or create your own snow to build a snowman!

December 15th - Decorate Gingerbread Houses

Get ready for a messy fun night! Grab some graham crackers and melted chocolate like we did and design to your hearts content. Want to make your own cookies for the houses but unsure where to start? Check out a recipe and template we found here or make it out of popsicle sticks like this family did.

December 16th - Make Stained Glass Art

Add some unique decorations this year with stained glass art! We grabbed a couple cheap frames from the Dollar Store and some Plaid Gallery Glass and created some outlines to make a couple fun art projects. Don’t want that much prep? Try out stained glass art from tissue paper, or from sharpies, or from noodles!

December 17th - Play Board Games

What brings the family together better than board games? Gather the family and play some of your favorites! Some of our office family favorites are Bananagram, Hot Words, Clue, Monopoly, Catan, Wingspan, Sorry, or Camel Up.

December 18th - Go Look At Christmas Lights

Make a mug of hot chocolate, grab some Christmas light glasses, and enjoy a leisurely drive around the county looking at everyone’s Christmas lights.

December 19th - Watch A Christmas Movie

Grab some popcorn or make some homemade pizza to go along with a cozy night at home with the family watching your favorite Christmas movie. Some of our office favorites are Klaus, Elf, Home Alone, Christmas Story, Santa Claus, or It’s A Wonderful Life.

December 20th - Send A Christmas Card

Share the Christmas spirit far and wide with homemade Christmas Cards! Here are some ideas for your littles to create: Surprise Christmas Cards, Tape Resistant Christmas Tree Cards, Fingerprint Christmas Tree Card, or Handprint Cards.

December 21st - Make Paper Snowflakes

Paper Snowflakes are a staple of kid’s Christmas decorations, but getting the right starting folds can be hard. Here is a great tutorial on how to prep your snowflake and then let your scissors fly in whatever design you want!

December 22nd - Go Christmas Caroling

“The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!” Bring some holiday cheer to your neighbor’s night with a rendition of your favorite Christmas Carol.

December 23rd - Bake Christmas Cookies

One of our favorite parts of the holidays are the Christmas cookies! Bring the family together and make some Christmas cookies. Here are some of our office favorites! Gingerbread Man Cookies, Snickerdoodles, Sugar Cookies, Chocolate Chip, or Gingersnaps!

December 24th - Read A Christmas Story

Gather around the fire (you can put that on the tv too) and read some of your favorite Christmas stories. Some of our office favorites are: “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, “Snowmen at Night”, “The Gingerbread Pirates”, and “If I were Saint Nick.”
